January Favourites!

It's already February! I can't believe it :) So it's time for another monthly favourites post, yay! I don't have an awful lot of products to show you, but I have also included one TV show and one foodie... or maybe it's a drink. Yes, water it's definitely a drink :) Enjoy!

L-R, top row first: I don't know why I haven't mentioned the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer to you before - 'cause I love it! I have seriously come to the point where I can't wear foundation without applying this to my skin first!

The Diorskin Nude Glow Foundation you already know - I've told you how much I love it, been wearing it non-stop this month! You can find my review here.

How come I am first now discovering the wonders of blotting sheets?! I've had those Bourjois Anti-Shine Blotting Sheets forever... maybe three years, I think, but I never used them until three weeks ago. Now I can't leave hourse without them, these are a lifesaver.

The blush is by Make Up Store, Frozen Daiquiri - it is a beautiful, bright colour with shimmer (see my haul and swatches here). I love this for a pop of colour on the apples of my cheeks - but be careful! This is very pigmented - which is why I use the next and the last product on the picture to apply it - the MAC 188. In case you aren't familiar with it, it's a small duo-fibre brush which can be used for mineral blushes, regular blushes (if very pigmented) and even foundation. I find that by just tapping the brush twice, very lightly, in the product, I get about the amount I need. Then I blend out with a kabuki.

Mixing blushes - I love this! It gives you such a natural flush, much more natural than you could achieve using just one product. I will do a separate post on how to mix two blushes for a flushed but contoured blush-look, without having to use a contour colour!

Dexter - Is loving him wrong? Because I can't help it :)

Sparkling Water - I can seriously drink dozens of bottles of sparkling water!

What are your favourites for January? I'd love to hear, please comment and tell me ;)

Love, Miss Diorista

P.S. I'd be happy to review any of those for you - let me know if you would like to see reviews, and then I'll be sure to put them on the top of my list!

  1. I've been lemming a 188 brush for awhile!

Ditto on mineral water! What is your favorite brand? I'm obsessed with this one called Gerolsteiner, which is from Germany, but they sell it in health food grocery stores here.

  2. @MatryoshkaDoll - Def get the 188, it is worth it. And I'm with you on Gerolsteiner! I can't get it here in Iceland, but I buy it when I travel to Germany. Here I either drink Kristall or Toppur (both of which are Icelandic brands). It's kind of funny how sparkling water can be so different, don't you think? :D

  4. Favorites are always my favorite posts =). I've never used foundation primer (mostly because I use tinted moisturizers) but that does sounds appealing! (And Smashbox is thumbs up for cruelty free). Maybe I'll have to try it out next time I go to a sephora

oh, and Dexter is the best. Love that show!

  5. @Kotori - You should try it, I love it!

@Dovey - I love tinted moisturizers too, have you tried the Rebel one from Benefit? I haven't so I'm looking for someone who has and can tell me how it is! And yes, I love that Smashbox is cruelty free!

  6. Miss Diorista...

First of all, thanks for the lovely comments & also another thanks for the support!!

Next, i was would to ask you what type of foundation to do recommend... cause I am trying to find one from me, but I have extremely sensitive skin plus when I asked the MAC consollers well, they just to check their website & their web page had no info on that... so I was wondering do you have any recommendation! Please & thank you!!

  7. @H Rija - Well, my favourite foundation at the moment is the Diorskin Nude Foundation. However, what kind of foundation are you looking for? Do you need a lot of coverage? If you only need medium coverage, then def try the Diorskin Nude. It is very light (40% water!) and feels great on your skin, plus it covers well.
If you want a drugstore one, you can try the Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid foundation. It covers well and feels great on.
Did this help? I hope so but if not then ask again :)
Oh, and before I forget, if you don't need full coverage, you could consider powder foundation. It's not good on dry skin, though, but it's a whole lot less fussy, in my opinion. I really like Benefit's Hello Flawless! and Dior's Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Sculpting Powder Makeup (long name!). I will review those two soon!
