Hi all of you!
I'm so excited to tell you about an event called NaNoWriMo! Ever heard of it before? If not, please do me (and yourself!) a favour, by clicking here and discovering all of it wonders!
However, if you want to get some brief details from me, then NaNoWriMo is short for National Novel Writing Month. It was founded by Chris Baty in 1999, and basically, it is this:
Write a novel, 50.000 words long, in 30 days.
Sounds simple, huh? Well... yes, it is. In theory! The official NaNoWriMo month is in November, so go ahead and head over to the site. Sign up and get ready! You have the whole of October to start plotting and planning for your novel - or maybe you already have a story in your head, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to get out? Well, now is its chance to get out!
You might also have noticed that I have put the NaNoWriMo logo here on my blog (to the right). If you click it, it will take you right to the wonderful world of NaNoWriMo.
Maybe this whole idea sounds like insanity to you? Well, it is. It is a bit crazy to write 50.000 words in 30 days (for most people, at least). However, it is a whole lot of fun, too! Just go ahead and try - maybe you've been writing for years, but still, give it a try. Writing a novel at the same time as thousands of others, getting their support, supporting them, adopting someone else's plot, taking a dare of putting a ninja into your romantic novel - is superfun! Or maybe you've always wanted to write - then this is your opportunity! Maybe you've never even thought about writing - but still, try! If you don´t like it, you can just quit. It is not for everyone, but those who find it fun... get addicted to writing (including me!). So try. You will only sacrifice a few hours, but you might gain a whole new world :)
