November Favourites 2011

I haven't blogged... for ages. Funny, since the same exact thing happened last winter... I took a "break" from blogging during the autumn and early winter, but got back into it around Christmas time... Anyways, I can't tell you how good it feels to be writing again!

Let us dive right into November favourites - which are actually not so much November favourites, as they are simply winter favourites. Many of these items, I have been using and loving for three months. Enjoy!

First up, with makeup, I have been loving the NARS Laguna Bronzer. I know, not much of a surprise, since almost everybody who tries it falls for it completely, but since I haven't had access to NARS before (I bought it in Edinburgh back in summer), it was a first for me. I just love this bronzer - it is honestly my favourite bronzer out of all the ones I have. Not only does it give you a healthy-looking glow, but it also looks amazingly natural as a contour colour. As you can see, I've already hit pan - I use it every single day.

About a month ago or so, Dior released a new collection of foundation, called Diorskin Forever, consisting of a liquid foundation and a powder foundation. Since I already have enough of liquid foundations to last me the next few months, I decided to try the powder version, called Diorskin Forever Compact in shade no. 010. And oh my. You haven't truly understood the meaning of a powder feeling velvety, until you have felt this powder. It is so smooth, stays nicely, covers nicely (not as well as a liquid, but very nicely for a powder) and doesn't accentuate dry skin as much as many powders do. Also, I love that they have a shade which is light enough for me.

Speaking of foundations... I know I keep saying this about every single liquid foundation I buy, but I have found a foundation which simply knocks me out. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation is so, so, so beautiful. And I couldn't help laughing when the lady matched my skin to a shade called Light 2 - or Mont Blanc - that's how fair I am! This is the closest colour match I've ever had in a foundation. And I love the finish - the coverage is medium, I would say, but very buildable, and the finish is light and natural. I don't feel overdone, but definitely well put together. And if I'm going somewhere fancy and feel like I need a bit of some extra coverage, I simply set it with the Diorskin Forever powder, instead of a regular powder.

For nails, I have been all over dark and vampy shades the past few weeks. But simple, good, old black doesn't do the trick for me - I like it dark with a twist! This Ciaté Paint Pot in Wait Until Dark is exactly that - dark with a twist. It is a dark, dark purple, with shimmer, sometimes it looks purple, sometimes almost black... magical against the glistening snow which has been coming down the last days.

I have been switching up my skincare almost entirely during the past three months, and have found many great products which I love. I might do a skincare routine soon, once my Christmas exams are over.

Ole Henriksen's On The Go Cleanser has made cleansing my face after a long day something to look forward to, a treat. It smells like orange soda, and is completely sensual.

Winter hasn't been kind to my skin - it never is, but this year, my skin is feeling the best it has for many years. I think a great portion of that is thanks to the wonderful EGF Serum. It is an Icelandic serum, which is supposed to help correct skin aging effects, improve the appearance of the skin, and moisturize. Now, of course, I'm young so I haven't experienced a whole lot of aging on my skin, but as for the moisturizing part... Wow. Two, maybe three drops of this wonder liquid, and my whole face is completely moist. This is far better than any moisturizer I have ever tried - believe me, if you have dry skin, this serum will quickly become your best friend.

But just moisturizing isn't enough - in order to keep my skin smooth, I've been searching for the perfect exfoliator. I find many of the usual grainy exfoliators too... too harsh I guess, but also not effective enough. However, this Anans Enzym Peeling by Arya Laya does the job perfectly. Most of its effectiveness is derived from the enzymes in the product, but it also has tiny grains. The mask feels slightly stingy, and you have to wash, not rinse, your face afterwards, since the enzymes won't stop working on your skin unless they are completely washed off, but the mask truly works wonders. It leaves my skin nicely exfoliated and soft.

That's it for now - but you'l be hearing more from me, that's for sure!

Love,
Miss Diorista

July Favourites 2011

It just can't already be the end of July. Just can't. Summer has whirled and twirled by in a sunny haze, and I've loved every minute of it! That being said, I've been getting a little bit lazy with my makeup... read on to find out what I've been wearing this month!

L-R:
  • Depend Cosmetics's False Lashes in No. 4 - the most amazing (and cheap!) false lashes. They look so natural, like my own lashes, just longer, denser, thicker!
  • Sigma's Large Powder Brush F30 - Love this brush for applying powder. It's quick, and the brush is so big and dense and soft.
  • The Body Shop's Honey Bronze - This is a liquid bronzer, which give me a natural glow and contour when I use it with a stippling brush. Perfect for summer.
  • L'Oréal's Volume Million Lashes - This mascara tends to clump my upper lashes slightly, but it's perfect for my lower lashes, because it separates them so beautifully.
  • Chanel's Soleil Tan De Chanel in Bronze Corail - You already know I love this one!
  • MAC's Beauty Powder in Alpha Girl - A really pretty blush, and the print makes it so summery.
  • Dior's Diorskin Poudre Compacte in "Transparent Light" - As the shade name describes, this one is almost sheer. I use Sigma's F30 brush for dusting this all over my face, just for mattifying purposes. This month, my skin has been so good, that I can easily just wear under-eye concealer, this powder and a little bronzer for contouring! It hasn't been this good for over a year, I'm so happy!
  • And of course, Make Up Store's Tri Brow Color seems to be an endless favourite of mine, especially during summer when I've been highlighting my brows. They have really turned into one of my favourite facial features lately.

Don't those lashes look lush? I've already used them twice, and they're still holding up pretty well!

What have been your favourites? Did you write a faves post this month? Share!

June Favourites 2011

I know, I know, it's already the 11th of July, and I haven't posted my June faves yet! Sorry how long that took, I guess kind of forgot myself (and the passing of time) spending my summer days outside when I'm not working. That being said, let's dive right into it!

This favourites post is a little bit different than most posts I've done. It looks the same or similar, but all my previous favourites posts have been featuring products I really loved and used during the month, but I maybe didn't use them every single day. This time, the sad (well, kind of sad for a makeup junkie at least) truth is, that I pretty much only wore one look the whole month! I've been working every day and have to get ready in the morning in just five or six minutes, so experimenting with makeup hasn't been an option for me. Therefore, all of those products have been used every day, they are very work-appropriate I find, easy to use and easy to throw in my purse for some mid-day touch-ups.

The look I was going for this month was beautiful skin, bronzed, well-defined cheeks, lush lashes and bright lips. Not to forget bright nails! Since my skin has been getting better the past few weeks (due to new skincare paired with better eating and more exercising, I think) I got away with just wearing powder foundation. I also love how it gives me a little bit less coverage, so my skin doesn't lose its glow. Enjoy!

L-R:
  • Benefit's 10 is a great highlighting/bronzing duo, that contours and highights in just one step. This is perfect when you're running low on time.
  • Benefit's Hello Flawless in Gee I´m swell, SHELL. Yup, still love this little doll!
  • MAC's Studio Careblend/Pressed powder in Gold-Go-Lightly. I like layering this under my powder foundation, which gives a more natural contoured look than putting it over the foundation.
  • Dior's Dior Addict Lipstick in Diorkiss is a love for me, as you already know since I chose it for my blog-birthday giveaway. Enter here to win a brand new Dior lipstick!
  • Dior's Diorshow 360 is a mascara that spins! I have been really loving it this month, and the spinning motion is lovely.
  • OPI's My Chihuahua Bites! is a lovely bright shade for summer. Looks great on tan skin!

What are your faves right now? Share with us!

May Favourites 2011

It's the end of May and the beginning of June, which means that it's time for May Faves! As you may have noticed, I've decided to include the year in the titles of those favourite posts, since I have no plans on stopping blogging, and after a year or more, those titles might become confusing if they don't have years added to them. But enough of the chit chat, let's get on with this! I have rather many favourites now, and I truly have used (and loved) them all a whole lot. Enjoy!

 L-R:
  • Guerlain's Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder in Blondes (01), has been my go-to this month when I want the highly sought after "healthy glow". It has five different colours in it, and when you mix them together, they perform beautifully. That being said, they are also pretty on their own, and I sometimes try to only pick up the matte bronze shades for contouring.
  • Maybelline's The One by One Volum' Express Mascara has been a hit for me this month, mainly because how nicely it separates my lashes. It does have a slight tendency to clump if you're not careful, but I still really like it.
  • I'm actually not a big fan of my next favourite, which might seem strange, but I do like it for one thing - it holds my curl amazingly well (especially since it is non-waterproof!). For that reason, I first apply my One by One mascara, and then a very, very thin layer of Maybelline's The Falsies Volum' Express Mascara. That way, my lashes are separated and curled almost all day long!
  • The Make Up Store's Tri Brow Color is a long-time favourite for me, I absolutely love it. It is perfect for filling in brows, and can also be used for eye shadows.
  • The POREfessional by Benefit really works! It makes my pores appear smaller and my makeup stay on for longer. It also smells really nice.
  • I was very excited to try the Reflex Cover (in Light) by Make Up Store. Turns out, I really like it. I apply this over my under-eye concealer, and this brightens it up beautifully. I also love this for the triangle trick, it's the perfect consistency.
  • MAC's Fluidline in Blacktrack is a new love of mine. It's a gel liner, very black and stays on very well. So much easier to apply than liquid liner, but the downside is that you have to have a brush on hand.
  • Dior's Diorlisse has gotten its fair share of use this month, since I've been using it either as a base coat or as a stand-alone polish for the entire month. I love that it is good for my nails!
  • Sigma E40 (Tapered Blending) brush has been very helpful this month, both for applying under-eye concealer and to set the under-eye area with powder.
  • Sigma F84 (Angled Top Kabuki) is great for blending out bronzer and blush, and since summer is here, I've been wearing bronzer a bit more, so this came in handy! Read my review here.
  • Nivea's Blush By Chantal Thomass in Secret Rose is a summertime stable for me, since I love the coral, rosy pink colour and the packaging! Read my review here.
L-R:
  • I have been looking for a nice, not-to-harsh cleanser for some time, and I really like Eucerin's Dermo Purifyer Cleanser. It is in gel form and soap and fragrance free.
  • You would not believe how dry my skin has been the past few weeks! I finally found something that worked, and not only did it work, but it worked within two days! It is the Dior HydrAction Deep Hydration Rich Creme, and I love it! I use this morning and night, and my skin is not dry anymore at all. Before, I was using Dior HydrAction Visible Defense Hydra-Protective Light Creme SPF 20, but it was too light for me, and just overall not a match for my skin. I didn't know it until I new what the other one was capable of though! Definitely recommend the rich one if you have dry skin (which I happily don't really have any more!).
  • I just noticed the other day that I have never included Clean and Clear's Exfoliating Daily Wash in my favourites... which is strange because I have loved it and used it almost every night for a little over a year now. I now use this cleanser every other night, and the small grains in it help exfoliate, while cleansing my skin. Love this!

What have you been loving this month? Want reviews on any of the products I mentioned? Tell me in the comments ;) And if you have done favourites post/video this month, leave me a link for us to check out!

Love,
Miss Diorista

P.S. Have you seen Pirates of Caribbean: On Stranger Tides yet? I went to the movies last night, and it is hilarious! I really enjoyed it, and the 3D was nice. And have you bought any OPI polishes from the piraty collection? I love the collection, but am still waiting for the collection to reach Iceland. What are your favourite shades?

April Favourites!

I can't believe it's already the 9th of May! Where did all my time go? This post is coming late because of my finals (only one week left, then I'm done!), but I hope you still enjoy it. Although, also because of my finals, my makeup has been laying really low this weekend - it's really just been about getting up and studying, and when I do go out, it's because I have an exam... that's the long and short of my life right now :)

So here we go, Miss Diorista's survival kit for finals!

  • The blush you see is MAC's Bite of An Apple (my swatches are here) which came out with the Venomous Villains collection (2010), so it is LE, which is sad. It's just the perfect pick-me-up in the morning. It's also a bit funny that when I first got this, it was the brightest blush I had and quite frankly, I though it looked super-scary. However, once I tried it on, I could see how the brightness just adds a fresh glow to your face... and now I'm a hopeless lover and collector of bright blushes!
  • OPI - Do you think I'm Tex-y? is such a pretty polish! My dad bought it for me when he was in New York on business, and it is just perfect for spring and summer! I love the jelly finish, and have been wearing this almost every day since I got it!
  • Benefit - Erase Paste in Nr. 1 is a great concealer... something you need when you study through half of the time you should be sleeping...
  • Benefit - Hello Flawless is a quick way for me to perk up the appearance of my skin before running out the door for an exam - read my review here. I've loved this for almost a year now!
  • And finally, the pretty palette only got used the first half of the month... no time for eyeshadow when you could be reading, I guess :) It is Smashbox - In Bloom Eyeshadow Palette, and I absolutely love it! Review coming up, it's great for those who love neutrals but want a little something on the side as well, the colours are amazing!

Loads and loads of reviews are being cooked up, so stay tuned!

Love,
Miss Diorista

March Favourites

I can't believe it's already April - sometimes I just want to stop time, it's flying away too fast! But then again, my birthday is coming up this month... and I've always been a birthday-gal!
Since I went to Berlin this month, I have quite a few new products to try out and review for you. So I'm really excited about this favourites post, since all the products are new :) But keep in mind, though, that I haven't posted haul pictures for some of those products yet - but I will, they are on their way :)

L-R:
  • The POREfessional by Benefit. I haven't used this for long enough to give a whole review, but I do think it works. And I love how it smells!
  • Amazon Princess Blush by MAC - I haven't touched the darker (and smaller) side yet - but I'm in love with the brighter shade - it's my perfect pink blush! (See my haul here) I also couldn't love this blush's name any more than I do, so adorable!
  • Guerlain's Météorites Compact in Teint Rosé (01). This is a relatively new product by Guerlain, and I love how that this setting powder (I use it to set my foundation) mattes out my complexion, while still giving me some kind of a glow... it isn't completely matte, you see, which I really like. I also appreciate how pale this palest shade is - hooray for beauties with pale skin :)
  • Manhattan's Multi Effect Eyeshadow in Metal Green. I've been on a hunt for the perfect forest green with golden shimmer - and I love this one. I mainly use it for setting my black eyeliner. So pretty! (See my haul here)
  • OPI's Teenage Dream - I only have a mini size, I need to buy a full sized one because I'm using this up so fast! I love two coats of this on top of another polish, on just one finger... so blingy, so girly!
  • Large Angled Contour (F40) by Sigma - I use this both for contouring and for my blush. Gets everything done with precision, review coming up, but you can see my Sigma brush haul here)
  • Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki (F80) by Sigma - I can't tell you what a lifesaver this brush has been. I use it both for my liquid foundation and for powder, and it is amazing. And for me to actually like a foundation brush is... well, pretty big. Again, the review is coming up, but in the meantime you can check out my Sigma brush haul :)
  • Revlon's Grow Luscious Mascara in Blackened Brown. Love, love, love. Natural but amazing lashes... I don't want to say any more, since I'm going to write a rave-review about this one... but the haul is right here.
I had many faves this month :) What about you? What have you been loving and using every day? I'd love to hear about it, please tell me in the comments!

Yours,
Miss Diorista

February Favourites!

Yes, I am perfectly aware of the fact that every single one of my favourites posts begin with me wondering where all the time went... so let's not break that lovely habit of ours, gals ;) Where on Earth has February gone?! It feels like I was writing my January Favourites just this morning...

As always, L-R :)
  • MAC Satin Taupe - I've had this shadow since last summer, but I never really understood what the hype was all about until this month, when I found out how amazing this colour is! I love this in my crease with just the highlight colour on my lid and the browbone, with a side of heavy liner... lovely!
  • MAC My Highland Honey - this was LE with the Tartan Tale collection (Holiday 2010). It looks almost orange or yellow in the pan and I never thought that I would be able to pull it off, but on my face, it just gives me this beautiful warm glow (it's a satin finish). Haven't really been feeling the regular pink blush look this month, so this blush came as a breath of fresh air into my routine!
  • Make Up Store, Tri Brow Color - I know, I know, this is in almost every blog post here! But that's how much I love it. I´ve been using it on my brows for quite some time (read how I use it here), but this month, I started using this as eyeshadow too - which works brilliantly! Those colours are the perfect colours (for my skintone) for just contouring my eyes, without giving me a made-up look, which regular shadows tend to do. Love, this is so multi-functional! Review coming up soon (though we all know that the word "soon" has a different meaning here on Miss Diorista than in the rest of the world!).
  • L'Oréal's Volume Million Lashes - Really like this mascara, the wand is great and easy to use, and the formula works. You do have to be a bit careful though, so that it doesn't clump (especially with 2+ coats). And it's really black!
  • The Body Shop Liquid Eyeliner - Nothing to say except love :) I've even learned to love the almost-felt tip this has, which I hated at first!
  • MAC 275 - How I ever did my crease without this brush remains a mystery to me. I could do my eye makeup fast asleep with this one - it's amazing, just creates the illusion of a perfect eyeshape with a few brush strokes!
  • Manhattan Eyeshadow Primer - love, love, love. Simple. I don't wear eyeshadow every day, and on a non-shadow day, this keeps my lids non-oily and bright. It also gives any shadow staying power and a satiny sheen! Review coming up ;)
And two non-makeup related things!
  • Lemon Curd - Have you ever tasted it? It is basically a sweet lemon paste... which tastes divine on a toast with some cheese! My every day staple this month ;)
  • The Big C - This TV show is really good. It's about a woman who finds out that she has cancer, decides that she doesn't want to tell anyone, and just sets out to enjoy life as much as possible. But it's harder than it sounds...
That's it for February, I hope that you all had the best month, and wish that March will be even better for you all!

Some of my Favourite Books for Baking!

Since you know that I'm really into baking, I decided that maybe some of you would like to see my favourite baking books :) Enjoy!

This is where I keep my favourite baking and cooking books. I have more but those are my favourites and the ones that I use most often.

And here are those five favourites from the favourites shelf, that I will be showing you in the post :)

The first one is Hot Chocolate by Michael Turback. Obviously, this is not a baking book, but it had to be included. I never knew so many different kinds of hot chocolate there were, until I bought this book! Endless fun :)

Next up is one of my all-time favourites, How To Be a Domestic Goddess by Nigella Lawson. This is one of those baking books that I can actually read, not just bake from.

Nigella Express, by Nigella Lawson. This book has lovely recipes, and as the title describes, they're quick, too. And I love the beautiful pictures in it!
As you can see, I really love Nigella, her recipes and her shows... something about her is just so relaxing, and you can't possibly be down when you're cooking her recipes, they're too much fun for that!

My friend gave me Baking with love from Reader's Digest for my birthday... two years ago, I believe. I'm still discovering great recipes there, and I love how they try to keep things healthy (act as if you can't see those brownies on the cover... I'm not going to try to make you think they're healthy! ;)

And finally, my aunt gave me this one, Eric Kayser's Sweet and Savoury Tarts. I prefer the sweet ones, let me tell you right away :) This is a very elegant book, and you need to have some time on your hands before you dive into a recipe from there. They are completely worth the effort, though!

January Favourites!

It's already February! I can't believe it :) So it's time for another monthly favourites post, yay! I don't have an awful lot of products to show you, but I have also included one TV show and one foodie... or maybe it's a drink. Yes, water it's definitely a drink :) Enjoy!

L-R, top row first: I don't know why I haven't mentioned the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer to you before - 'cause I love it! I have seriously come to the point where I can't wear foundation without applying this to my skin first!

The Diorskin Nude Glow Foundation you already know - I've told you how much I love it, been wearing it non-stop this month! You can find my review here.

How come I am first now discovering the wonders of blotting sheets?! I've had those Bourjois Anti-Shine Blotting Sheets forever... maybe three years, I think, but I never used them until three weeks ago. Now I can't leave hourse without them, these are a lifesaver.

The blush is by Make Up Store, Frozen Daiquiri - it is a beautiful, bright colour with shimmer (see my haul and swatches here). I love this for a pop of colour on the apples of my cheeks - but be careful! This is very pigmented - which is why I use the next and the last product on the picture to apply it - the MAC 188. In case you aren't familiar with it, it's a small duo-fibre brush which can be used for mineral blushes, regular blushes (if very pigmented) and even foundation. I find that by just tapping the brush twice, very lightly, in the product, I get about the amount I need. Then I blend out with a kabuki.

Mixing blushes - I love this! It gives you such a natural flush, much more natural than you could achieve using just one product. I will do a separate post on how to mix two blushes for a flushed but contoured blush-look, without having to use a contour colour!

Dexter - Is loving him wrong? Because I can't help it :)

Sparkling Water - I can seriously drink dozens of bottles of sparkling water!

What are your favourites for January? I'd love to hear, please comment and tell me ;)

Love, Miss Diorista

P.S. I'd be happy to review any of those for you - let me know if you would like to see reviews, and then I'll be sure to put them on the top of my list!

My Favourite Products of 2010!

Can you believe it? The year 2010 is almost over. I feel like it was New Year's Eve just yesterday... yet the whole year has passed!
But, that of course means, that it is time for a quick summery of the year, that is, the cosmetics of the year :) Enjoy!

First up, you see my most used perfume this year. It is the Miss Dior Chérie, by Dior, in the Eau de Printemps version. It is rather light, floral but sophisticated at the same time. I love this perfume.

In the upper row, from the left, you see the Tri Brow Color by the Make Up Store. This is HG for my eyebrows, I will do a separate post on it.
The lighter e/s is Eye Colour in shade 41 by The Body Shop. It is very smooth and pigmented, a shimmery golden, beige colour. Goes great over Rubenesque paintpot, which is what I have been using it for (mostly). The other e/s you see is MAC Satin Taupe, which is what I have then been using in the crease.
I'm sure that most of you are familiar with the Voluminous mascara by L'Oréal. If not, then you need to try it :) It is absolutely amazing if you're looking for way blacker than black, long lashes.
And the brush you see is MAC's 275. I actually got this one for Christmas, but I'm already in love with it. This brush makes shading a breeze!

The lippie is by YSL, it is a Rouge Volupté in shade 29, called Opera Rose. This is a brilliantly creamy lipstick, but the shade is also right up my alley. Bright, yet not too bright.
The lipgloss is by L'Oréal, it is one of their 6H Glam Shine ones. Mine is in colour number 103, called Forever Nude. It is basically a nude colour, with a hint of pink and it's fair share of shimmer. Pretty by itself but gorgeous over almost any lipstick!
And finally, products that have made my skin purr :) Well, almost. The powder (which you can tell is a lover!) is Hello Flawless by Benefit. Mine is in the colour Gee I'm swell, shell. It's a little too dark for me, but I can still make it work. Wonderful powder foundation.
Next to that is the Amber Diamond highlighter by Dior. I got it for Christmas, and didn't fall in love with it until yesterday (the trick is to use a blush brush for it!)... but I fell so hard that I decided to include it here. Really gives you a gorgeous, subtle glow.
The blush is MAC's Springsheen. It is a sheertone shimmer, and creates beautifully glowy (I'm in love with anything that glows!) cheeks.
Last but not least, the Dior Airflash foundation (mine is in shade 200). I actually never spray this on my face. I rather spray it on the back of my hand, and then use a brush or my fingers for applying it. This gives me just the right coverage, not too light and not too heavy, and I can't feel that I'm wearing foundation at all.
That completes it! I hope you liked it. What were your most-reached-for products this year? Please tell me in the comments!
Love, Miss Diorista
P.S. Looking for a review on any of those? Let me know!

September Hits!

Yes, I know that it's the tenth of October... but I still really want to do my September favourites, so I decided to just forget the calendar for a few minutes! Please turn all forgetful with me, will ya?

First of all, you see Sprinsheen blush by MAC. Do I love this. I wore nothing else the first two weeks after I got this. I absolutely love this. Did I tell you how much I love this blush?

The little pink pot is a concealer, the Erase Paste by Benefit. I'm in the lightest shade, nr. 1. This is a really creamy concealer, stays on all day and covers really well. Yes, it does crease a little bit, but I can live with that :)

And the powder you see is also by Benefit, the Hello Flawless! It is a powder which is supposed to cover like a foundation. I really love this. It covers up pretty decently, and feels good. I'm in the shade "Gee, I'm swell, SHELL". Only downfall is that I am going through this pretty quickly... on the other hand, I have been using it almost every day for about two months now, so maybe that's why I'm seeing pan already!

Here, you see the... long things. Yeah. Good explanation of my behalf, wasn't it? Okay then, Miss Diorista. Let´s see your long things!
First up is my favourite mascara so far, the Voluminous by L'Oréal. This is just beyond words, makes my lashes long and lush, doesn't clump and is very black. I don't like it when mascaras say "black", but come out looking all gray. This one says black, and is black.
The brush is an e/s blender by The Body Shop. Sure, it's a good blender, but the reason it's here, is that it is a great brush for creating subtle shadows for an everyday look. If you just want that extra depth/emphasize on your eyes, without it looking like you have any eyeshadow on, then this is your brush. Love it, have been using it constantly.
Yes, I've been on an eye-lining rush lately... the first one is by Clinique, a Cream Shaper for Eyes in 103, called Egyptian. It is a beautiful kind of khaki green colour. Really dark though, and looks black once on. Just not quite as harsh, which I why I love it. Also really creamy, so to prevent smudging, I would set it with some dark e/s.
The white eyeliner is by Sisley, it is a Kohl eyeliner, in Snow. Has some subtle shimmer to it, and is just a dream. Creamy enough to be used on your waterline, yet doesn't smudge. However, it is also creamy enough to be used under your brow as a highlight... so this is a wonderproduct, I'm telling you! Creamy when it has to be and non-creamy when it is supposed to be exactly that! Lol!
The last long thing I've got to show you is a Velvet Eyeliner from GOSH, in 01 Blue Moon. It is a beautiful blue colour. Not a bright blue, just... the perfect blue. I love it! Adds some bling to your eyes without being too overpowering!

Here are some swatches for you guys. On top is the Springsheen blush, then the eyeliners. First is Egyptian, then Sisley Snow, finally the GOSH one.
So, what have you been loving for the month of September? Please tell me, I'd love to know!
And leave any requests for product reviews in the comments ;)
Yours,

June 2010 Favourites

Yes, I know I'm a bit late with this maybe, but still, I wanted to let you guys know what I've been loving this June! So let´s get started!

This one is to the side, just flip your computer if you can... or tilt your head! This is OPI's Chicago Champagne Toast. A really pretty pinkish plum colour, and a nice break from this season's bright corals!

This beautiful blush to the left is simply love, love, love. It is in shade 02 and it is by Golden Rose (I got in a pharmacy). I have absolutely been loving the gorgeous pink glow that it gives. You can see it swatched on the bottom.
The lipgloss is by GOSH and the shade is 0058. This is a really nice rosy pink colour with shimmer. Looks good on its own but is still sheer enough to be put over lipstick. It is swatched on top.

The lipgloss is 6H Glam Shine in shade 103, called Forever Nude, by L'Oréal. My aunt gave this to me for my birthday in April, and I love it! Love the texture, the colour, the shimmer, the consistency, the packaging, everything! It is a pinky nude, wearable enough to wear on its own but simply outstanding over lipstick! It is swatched on top.
The lipstick is my favourite lipstick, and it is by Dior, in shade 559, called Rose Drama. It is so wearable, a pinkish mauve colour, with a hint of plum maybe, and has a beautiful sheen to it. No chunky glitter here. Very sophisticated and goes brilliantly with the L'Oréal lipgloss. Swatched on the bottom.

This is a beautipowder by MAC, and it came out with the Liberty of London collection. It is called Shell Pearl, and the name really tells you all about it. This is a gorgeous pale pink powder. I love the pearly sheen it gives, and I use it either as a pale blush or over another blush to give me that nice, pearly look. Great to wear out in the sun!

FYI, you're looking at a miracle product here! This is Cover All Mix (in the lighter shade) by Make Up Store. I don't use the red colour, and the lightest shade I only use to prime my eyelids (works well as a primer, but not as a concealer!), but it's the green shade that I'm in love with! I use it on my chin and nose to conceal any redness that I have and this works wonders, covers well and blends in perfectly. Does not look green on the skin!

This is probably my number one summer product (though I do use it a lot no matter the season, this is one of my makeup collection's stars!). It is Dior's Diorskin Poudre Compacte in shade 001, called Transparent Light. I use it either to set my makeup or as a 'foundation' on those "almost no makeup days". It makes my skin look healthy, even and it mattes the areas which get shiny in summer (my forehead and my nose) without making them look powdery, chalky or 'made-up'. Just beautiful.

This is my summer foundation, Nature's Minerals by The Body Shop. Mine is shade 03. This is a powder foundation, but it gives me a very glowy, almost dewy look, and does not feel or look powdery at all. It is very sheer coverage, but on the other hand it looks so natural. The kabuki brush is necessary to apply it and I love this brush, so dense and soft.
This is it for now, I hope you enjoyed and please comment and tell me your favourites, or if you have tried any of the products above!
Dior-ish regards,
Miss Diorista
