Revlon - ColorBurst Lipstick in Crimson



I honestly don't know why I like this lipstick so much. I don't even know why I bought it, because this is not at all the kind of colour that I usually go for on my lips. Actually, it is very far from my day-to-day comfort zone. But still, I love it! I love the pattern on the packaging, I love how the lipstick feels on, I love that the colour of the actual lipstick is shown on the packaging, I love the wear-time and the staying power, and most importantly, I love the colour!

The colour is a rusty, burgundy red, or a dark crimson (click here to see the haul this lipstick comes from). As I said, I rarely wear such shades, but I find myself waking up in the morning with the only thought in my head to rush over to my vanity to find my Revlon Crimson... haha, this lippie is really getting into my head! I would maybe rather recommend this colour for evening, but you can most certainly wear it all day long.

At the top of the lippie (you can see it in the top picture), the colour of the actual lipstick is shown, which is great if you have a few of those (so irritating when you have to pull out each and every one to find the shade you are looking for - that won't be a problem with this one!).

The staying power is great, and I typically get about 4 to 5 hours of wear (if I want the full impact of the lipstick), but I have gone from 8 am until 4 pm without reapplying, and since the lipstick actually stains the lips quite a bit, it works out ok. Therefore, this lipstick is great if you don't have time to reapply!

The packaging is, as I said, super-pretty, and I love that the lippie feels slightly heavy to hold - makes it a bit more glam I guess :) The lipstick does have a faint scent, not one that I like (it's not a "perfumy" scent, more like wax or something like that...) but I can't smell it once it's on, so that's alright.

The only "down-fall" (which isn't even really a down-fall) to this lipstick, is that because of how insanely pigmented it is, you have to be very, very careful when applying it. I would even use a lipbrush, because once this little darling has gotten ahold of something... well, it won't let go :) So just take care!

Swatches! Upper one is just one swipe, second is three coats (fullest colour). The colour is a little more red in real life, though (the top picture is actually rather accurate).

Haul from Berlin (part 4) - OPI

I was going to wait with this post until tomorrow, but I am so excited about getting this haul out (and finally having time to blog) that I just had to write it now. Besides, those polishes are so pretty that the joy has to be shared! 

L-R:

• OPI Katy Perry Mini Nail Lacquers - I love minis, and I really wanted to try the Katy Perry collection, so those cuties just screamed at me from the shelf! Unfortunately, it doesn't include Black Shatter, but I actually just found it in the store today, so there's no harm done :)
• OPI Green-wich Village. I love this colour! It's the perfect green, not too bright, yet not dull at all, and I don't think I could ever get bored with it! It's kind of like grass... the formula is a cream.
• OPI Who The Shrek Are You? I always wanted this polish but couldn't find it until now! It is a cream formula, and literally, it is Shrek's exact colour! So fun!

Reviews for all of those are coming up, but if there are any that you would like to see sooner than others, let me know! Also, stay tuned for the next part of this haul, which will be a few goodies from Victoria's Secret (cosmetics of course :)

OPI - Holy Pink Pagoda!

OPI Holy Pink Pagoda! is a shimmery medium pink shade, not too bright or dull, and most importantly, it doesn't lean red at all. I find with so many pink polishes, that they seem to be almost red in certain lighting. That is not the case with this one, here you buy pink, and you get pink. However, if you are not a "girly girl", I wouldn't recommend this shade, since it just screams "flower power"! (Click here to see pictures of the haul.)

The formula is the classic OPI formula, I've yet to find one which has disappointed me. I needed about 2-3 coats, but the drying time was nice, and it comes off alright. Didn't stain my nails.

Will I be reaching for this very often? Honestly, I'm not sure. It's just not a shade I "crave" so often for my nails. It is really pretty though, especially if you like pink polishes, and I did enjoy it.

In my pictures, this polish looks a lot like Star Gazer Nail Polish in Nr. 134. However, they are nothing like each other in person; the Star Gazer one is so much brighter and more glittery (and more fun I think...)

Weekly Gratitude - Spring, my father, cookies and forgiving

March Favourites

I can't believe it's already April - sometimes I just want to stop time, it's flying away too fast! But then again, my birthday is coming up this month... and I've always been a birthday-gal!

Since I went to Berlin this month, I have quite a few new products to try out and review for you. So I'm really excited about this favourites post, since all the products are new :) But keep in mind, though, that I haven't posted haul pictures for some of those products yet - but I will, they are on their way :)

L-R:

• The POREfessional by Benefit. I haven't used this for long enough to give a whole review, but I do think it works. And I love how it smells!
• Amazon Princess Blush by MAC - I haven't touched the darker (and smaller) side yet - but I'm in love with the brighter shade - it's my perfect pink blush! (See my haul here) I also couldn't love this blush's name any more than I do, so adorable!
• Guerlain's Météorites Compact in Teint Rosé (01). This is a relatively new product by Guerlain, and I love how that this setting powder (I use it to set my foundation) mattes out my complexion, while still giving me some kind of a glow... it isn't completely matte, you see, which I really like. I also appreciate how pale this palest shade is - hooray for beauties with pale skin :)
• Manhattan's Multi Effect Eyeshadow in Metal Green. I've been on a hunt for the perfect forest green with golden shimmer - and I love this one. I mainly use it for setting my black eyeliner. So pretty! (See my haul here)
• OPI's Teenage Dream - I only have a mini size, I need to buy a full sized one because I'm using this up so fast! I love two coats of this on top of another polish, on just one finger... so blingy, so girly!
• Large Angled Contour (F40) by Sigma - I use this both for contouring and for my blush. Gets everything done with precision, review coming up, but you can see my Sigma brush haul here)
• Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki (F80) by Sigma - I can't tell you what a lifesaver this brush has been. I use it both for my liquid foundation and for powder, and it is amazing. And for me to actually like a foundation brush is... well, pretty big. Again, the review is coming up, but in the meantime you can check out my Sigma brush haul :)
• Revlon's Grow Luscious Mascara in Blackened Brown. Love, love, love. Natural but amazing lashes... I don't want to say any more, since I'm going to write a rave-review about this one... but the haul is right here.

Haul from Berlin (part 3) - Artdeco, Manhattan, Maybelline

The third part, finally! I've been meaning to get this post up for you for days! Thanks to today being Friday, I can finally write this, so enjoy! This part is about Artdeco, Manhattan and Maybelline.

Manhattan (top row)

• The two single e/s are Multi Effect Eyeshadow in Metal Green (left) and Earth (right). I especially love the green one!
• The palette is Perfect Eyes Eyeshadow in Safari Effects. I haven't tried it yet, but form swatches I've done, it isn't too pigmented... sad, because the colours look so pretty.

Artdeco

• The mascara in the silver and black tube is All in One Mascara, in Olive. It's a dark forest green colour with golden shimmer.
• Just like last time I was in Germany, I built myself an Artdeco palette. Except this time, knowing how lovely those shadows are, I deicded to go for five shadows instead of just three :) (You can see my old palette here, as well as read about Artdeco's palette system) The shadows I got are, from top to bottom: 29, 22, 55, 49, 40. (My fave is nr. 40, it's an irresisteble forest green with golden shimmer! Yes, I was having a "green" craving when I bought those, obviously :) The blush is a lovely, shimmery strawberry colour (a lot brighter than it looks in the picture). It's nr. 30.

Maybelline

• Finally, just one item left, and it is the Maybelline Volum' Express One by One Mascara. Mine is in Glam Black. I now have all three mascaras from the Volum' Express collection, so I'll hopefully post a comparison soon!
