Haul - OPI, Nicole by OPI and Ole Henriksen!

I told you I had another haul post for ya! I love this haul, to be honest... well, lots of polish and (hopefully) great skincare - what's there not to love?!?

L-R:
  • OPI Femme De Cirque minis - this set of four minis has gorgeous light hues - pinks and nudes, as well as a really special "glitter" topcoat. Can't wait to try them out.
  • Ole Henriksen Starter Kit for Normal/Combination Skin - I had been saving up for this one, since it's high-end skincare and on the pricier side, and I'm so happy to finally have it. I have heard great things about Ole Henriksen's skincare line, and I thought this kit was a great way to get to know his products. You get 2 months supply of complete skincare, and the six products include cleanser, face tonic, day creme and night creme, a walnut scrub and a firming mask. I'll do an in-depth review when I've used these for a while!
  • OPI Nice Stems! minis - Another set of four mini OPI shades, but those are quite the opposite of the other one - these are bright summer colours! Sounds like me!
  • I had to get at least one pirate shade! I only picked one since I was already buying quite a lot that day, and the one I chose was Stranger Tides by OPI, which was the one that seemed most unique to me. It is a greyish green, really pretty in a strange way. Arrr!
  • And finally, we all need some glitter! I'm not really a Justin Bieber fan, but when I saw that his Nicole by OPI collection was out here, I had to pick one shade We've never had Nicole by OPI in Iceland before and my heart started beating so fast when I saw the stand - yes, I know. I´m a polish junkie, proud to be :) I chose Step to the Beat of my Heart, which is a clear polish with purple glitter and purple hearts floating around! This will be so pretty for layering over other shades, particularly for accent manis!

So, like my haul? I have to say that I'm in love with all my new polish!

OPI - The Katy Perry Collection

I'm so late posting this! You've probably seen this collection months ago, but I like my minis, so I'm putting this post up anyway :)
I bought this set of mini polishes in March, when I was in Berlin, and it has all four shades of the Katy Perry collection, except for Black Shatter:

The One That Got Away, Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night and Not Like the Movies

  • Teenage Dream and Last Friday Night are glitter polishes, the latter is blue, the other one is pink. Last Friday Night is the thickest polish I've ever worked with, it felt like applying pudding to my nails!
  • The One That Got Away is a dark pink with shimmer/glitter.
  • Not Like the Movies is a... strange colour! It's a metallic grey/dark silver, with green and purple shimmer. Pretty, but not really "me".

Teenage Dream is my favourite from the four, it is super sparkly and pretty, especially over another polish for some "bling". Wish I had gotten the full size before they ran out!
Pretty much self-explanatory, but I have The One That Got Away on my thumb and my pinky, Last Friday Night on my index finger, Not Like The Movies on my middle finger and Teenage Dream on my ring finger.
Just in case any of you haven't seen a mini OPI nail polish bottle, I have a momma-polish and a baby-polish of The One That Got Away. The "momma" is 15 ml, the "baby" is 3.75 ml. They're so cute!

Same order of polish, but with OPI Black Shatter on top. Teenage Dream with Black Shatter is so pretty, with all the glitter peaking through!

Over to you: What did you think of the collection, did you buy any of the shades? And what about mini bottles, do you like them?

Finals are over - and a haul!

I can't believe it... I finished my finals yesterday! Those three weeks and eleven finals really did fly by, but I can't tell you how glad I am to finally have the time to sleep, think, relax, write, blog and tweet and... haul! Yay! This haul is my own award for powering through eleven finals :) Most of it is nail polish, but I also got a super-duper deal on a MAC brush and a Dior blush, so I couldn't be happier!

L-R, starting with the upper row:
  • Sally Hansen - Insta-Dri in Mint Sprint. This is a very pretty dark minty polish with a cream finish. I was actually looking for a mint polish, have a favourite you want to share? I'd love to hear of nice minty shades!
  • Maybelline - Forever Strong Professional in Green Miracle. This one promises a "zero error" brush, and I look forward to telling you if that is true, since such a brush would be revolutionary for those of us who can be slightly clumsy with their polish (I'm guilty as charged!)
  • OPI - Big Hair... Big Nails. I've been loving loving loving the jelly finish from the new OPI Texas collection and this colour is just so pretty!
  • Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure in Polar Bare. I bought this for French manis, but now that I've swatched it on paper, it seems very light... I'll figure something out ;)
  • Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure in Naked Ambition. This is such a pretty one, it's a peach colour with shimmer. Love!
  • Depend Cosmetics - Cracked Effect in White
  • Depend Cosmetics - Cracked Effect in Purple
  • Depend Cosmetics - Cracked Effect in Pink
  • Make Up Store - Reflex Cover in Light. They say this is a miracle for your under-eye area, for brightening after concealer. I´ve been thinking about buying this for half a year or so, and decided that it was finally time!
  • Purederm - Vitalizing Orange Pads. Those are so cute, and I'm hoping that they will be as vitalizing as they promise!
  • MAC - 162 brush. My MAC was having a sale on discontinued and LE products, and I got this brush 30% off! It is amazing for precise highlighting and contouring, for example around the nose, where a usual contouring brush is too big.
  • Dior - Diorshow Powder in Spotlight Peach. Another shop was having a 40% off sale on some products, and I was so happy to find this beautiful peachy blush. Love the packaging too.

Have you been hauling anything lately? Share ;)

OPI - The Texas Collection

Guess who brought me those dollies you see above?! My cutie-pie daddy! He had to go to New York on business, and found those... dare I say on the finger nails of his co-workers? Haha, no, I doubt it!
But, no matter where you found them (I've heard it was quite a search, he supposedly dragged his companions through half of the city, searching for the perfect shade :) then thank you so much, the polishes are adorable (and so are you!). *hugs*

Then on to the collection itself... which did really surprise me. It has such a broad collection of colours, from very pale colours to screaming brightness - it really has something for everyone. Not to forget the jellies! They are being marketed as "sorbets" now... which name do you prefer? If you are unfamiliar with jellies, then it is a nail polish finish which looks really squishy... kind of like looking at a good old-fashioned jelly :) This is not a finish you see every day, and us nail polish addicts were hoppingly happy when OPI released some with this collection!

L-R: Houston We Have a Purple, Y'All Come Back Ya Hear? and Do You Think I'm Tex-y? Those are all jellies, and they are much brighter and prettier in real life than my blurry picture shows!

L-R: Don't Mess With OPI and Austin-tatious Turquoise. I actually bought those myself (though papa did buy two other ones, not from the Texas collection, which I will show you later). I saw them at a pharmacy and couldn't help myself.

I haven't gotten around wearing all of those yet, so you're only getting paper-swatches for now - but I promise that I will review each shade individually in the next two weeks or so!

And lastly, sorry about the low-quality lighting in those pictures. I didn't have my usual lighting available, but I've fixed it now :)

Back to my books, I have a huge final coming my way (six down, only five to go, yay! Summer is only two weeks away now!)

Haul from Berlin (part 7) - Tom Ford, Chanel, Guerlain

As you can probably tell, we are now up to part 7 in this haul, and there are eight parts total... so yup, the next one is Dior :)

L-R:
  • Chanel Nail Colour in Particuliére (505) - There has been so much hype about this polish, and after seeing it on my aunt's nails, I had to try it... the colour is hard to describe, but it's a taupe-ish brown cream.
  • Chanel Nail Colour in Black Pearl (513) - Talking about hype! There are no better words to describe this little beauty than simply "black pearl"... blue-ish, grey-ish, stone-y colour with blue and green shimmer... a complex colour!
  • Guerlain Météorites Compact in Teint Rosé (01) - I actually talked about this in my March Favourites, so you already know that I love this setting powder, which mattifyes while still giving some "life" to the appearance of your skin.
  • Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color in Pink Dusk - Oh my... my, my. Do I love this little one. I love everything about it, from the packaging to the sweet, elegant scent... and don't even get me started on the gorgeous nude-ish (haha, everything is -ish something today!) pink colour!
A closer (and blurrier... sorry about that :) look of the two Chanel polishes - Particuliére to the left, Black Pearl to the right.

Nail Polish Haul - Star Gazer

I feel like I'm flooding you with nail polish posts! It's fun ;)
I had never even heard of this company, Star Gazer, when I came across their nail polishes in a costume shop in Reykjavík... ever heard of it? Well, their nail polish looked interesting and I instantly fell in love with the "crystal ball" packaging, so I had to buy some! Enjoy my haul!

L-R:
  • The first one is Nr. 134 (kind of sucks that these don't have names, only numbers... names are so much easier to remember!). This one is way brighter in real life than it is on the picture, it's a hot red, pink colour with blue-ish shimmer/glitter.
  • Nr. 121, a beautiful dark copper colour with shimmer. Changes entirely based on lighting, though (as they all do, in fact).
  • Nr. 132. A grey, gunmetal, silver, taupe... colour? Mix those colours together and you'll get the one in the bottle... and don't forget to throw a handful of shimmer in there, too! Can't wait to wear this one.
All of the colours look extremely unique, and are unlike anything I've seen before. I really hope the formula is good, because those could be possible keepers!
Only thing I noticed right away that they're missing, is a shaker ball or two. Nail polish needs shaker balls!
UPDATE: I found a shaker ball in one of them (the grey one, Nr. 132). But why not the other two?!

Nail Polish Haul!

First of all, sorry for the post-overload from me today! This is the last one, though :) I just have so many posts that I want to get up for you... and also this new Blogger system is really helping, since you can make blog posts in advance now! Yay for that ;)
So on to the nail polishes!

L-R:
  • Those two polishes, the blue and red ones, I'm so excited about! They're by Depend Cosmetics, which I believe is a Sweden brand, and they are a part of their "Cracked Effect" collection. In case you've heard about or purchased OPI Black Shatter, then those polishes do the same thing - when worn on top of another polish, they crack and shatter as they dry, leaving you with a unique nail design on every nail! I can't wait to try those out! And the colours are simply "Red" and "Blue". I believe they also carry black, white, pink and purple.
  • And finally, I bought Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear Nail Color in shade 10, called Emerald City. I've been lemming this for some time, since it's seems to be a beautifully deep, shimmery green, but couldn't find it anywhere until now. You should have seen my face when I grabbed the last one they had ;)

Been buying any nail polishes lately? I'm on a nail polish kick, so if you know about any great nail polish blogs (I already read and love Varnish Vixen ;) then please let me know!
