Haul from Berlin (part 7) - Tom Ford, Chanel, Guerlain

As you can probably tell, we are now up to part 7 in this haul, and there are eight parts total... so yup, the next one is Dior :)

L-R:
  • Chanel Nail Colour in Particuliére (505) - There has been so much hype about this polish, and after seeing it on my aunt's nails, I had to try it... the colour is hard to describe, but it's a taupe-ish brown cream.
  • Chanel Nail Colour in Black Pearl (513) - Talking about hype! There are no better words to describe this little beauty than simply "black pearl"... blue-ish, grey-ish, stone-y colour with blue and green shimmer... a complex colour!
  • Guerlain Météorites Compact in Teint Rosé (01) - I actually talked about this in my March Favourites, so you already know that I love this setting powder, which mattifyes while still giving some "life" to the appearance of your skin.
  • Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color in Pink Dusk - Oh my... my, my. Do I love this little one. I love everything about it, from the packaging to the sweet, elegant scent... and don't even get me started on the gorgeous nude-ish (haha, everything is -ish something today!) pink colour!
A closer (and blurrier... sorry about that :) look of the two Chanel polishes - Particuliére to the left, Black Pearl to the right.

Love,
Miss Diorista

Victoria's Secret - Ooh la la

I can tell you right away, that I´m picky about perfumes. I can't just pick anything up, spray it on and wear it... I have to try it out first, and then I have to really love it if I'm going to be wearing it - I generally don't wear a perfume unless I have fallen head over heals.

So what am I looking for in a perfume? Of course, writing a review for a perfume doesn't really make sense because what I don't like, you might love, or vice versa. So what do I like perfume-wise? Well, I generally go for floral scents, and I like a bit of sweetness to them, but not too much - that just gives me a head ache. Which brings me to another point which rules out so many perfumes for me - I have asthma, and many perfumes have me coughing like crazy all day - which of course is no good.
However, although I like floral scents, I am always open to other scents too.

Whew! Now when that's done with, I can start telling you what I think of this particular perfume, Ooh la la by Victoria's Secret. The scent is floral and it has just that right amount of sweetness to it - doesn't lose its edge in a truckload of sugar, so to speak. I absolutely love the vanilla in it, but the floral notes (think mandarin orange and cherry blossom) keep the scent exciting, fresh and fun.

The weartime is a little below average, I would say. That means, if you are fanatic with your perfume, you probably will feel like spritzing on some more halfway through your day. I don't really do that, though.

And do I have to point out to you the adorable packaging?!? Didn't think so :) This bottle looks so cute on my vanity, and I love the old-fashioned pump (what do you call this?).

Bottomline: I like this. I don't feel like wearing this every day, but when I do, I really like it!

Haul from Berlin (part 6) - Benefit

We're getting to the fun part of this haul - and I have so many fun posts coming up the next few days (or weeks!). I can hardly wait :)

L-R:
  • Hello Flawless in "Gee, I'm swell, Shell". This is my second one, I've already gone through a whole pan of this - read my review here!
  • Finding Mr. Bright - I love this kit, it's so cute! It includes 4 miniature items - Girl meets pearl (a golden-pink face primer), Posietint (pink-tinted lip and cheek stain), High Beam (a liquid highlighter) and Erase Paste in 02, which is actually too dark for me... but the other products seem nice... and I love the fun packaging! Also, this is a really nice option if you want to try those products but don't want to buy the full-sized ones.
  • The POREfessional - I've been really liking this primer lately, it minimizes your pores and makes your makeup stay on longer.
  • Benetint Lip Balm - This is basically a tinted lipbalm with SPF 15. Looks nice so far :)
  • Powderflage - This is marketed as a powder concealer... now I'm not so sure about that, but it's basically a light pink shimmery powder to set your under eye concealer with... I'm such a sucker for products which sound different, like "powder concealer", so of course I had to buy this. We'll see if I like it or not.
  • Bella Bamba - Since I've used and loved some of Benefit's boxed powders for some time, I decided to give this pretty pink blush (which is their latest boxed powder) a try. It's so beautiful!
  • Finally, we have Big Beautiful Eyes, which is such a pretty palette with three eyeshadows for a neutral look, Boi-ing concealer in 02 (again, too dark for me) and a double-ended brush for e/s and concealer.
We now have only two parts left of the haul, one of which is Dior, so I'm very excited about that one. Also, we have loads of reviews coming up, so stay tuned!

Yours,
Miss Diorista

Star Gazer - Nail Polish in Nr. 121

This is a very special and unique colour! It has a "fire-y" touch to it, if you can see it in the pictures... You can definitely see some copper to this colour, but it also has golden and red, as well as a load of shimmer. Then, what makes this colour seriously complicated, is the kind of "grey glass" effect... I don't know how to explain it, but it's like you're looking at the colour through grey glass. Yep. *Reader goes: That´s it. Miss Diorista has gone completely nuts...* Haha, well call me crazy,  but that's the way it is :P

The formula is nice, drying time was very quick, started chipping on 3rd or 4th day, and I needed about 3 coats to make it absolutely opaque. Frankly, I kind of fell in love with this colour!

OPI - Who The Shrek Are You?

See who we're dealing with here folks? Yup. It's Shrek himself!
If you're Shrek, then I'm Fiona, no doubt about it ;D
Don't you love this bright green shade? It just screams summer (see my nail polish haul here).
The formula is your classic OPI formula, although it is a little bit on the sheerer side, I needed 3 coats to be happy, and it still wasn't completely opaque (as you can see on the last picture). Drying time was nice, removing the polish was fairly easy, and I didn't see chipping until the fourth day.

This is a cream formula, and it is, as I said, a bright green with some lime to it... although the best way to describe it is really just "Shrek". This is pretty much his exact colour, which makes me so happy, haha! A friend of mine who never wears nail polish and didn't know the name of the polish, said the moment she spotted my nails: "Wow, just like Shrek!". Haha, I laughed so hard!

Haul from Berlin (part 5) - Victoria's Secret

Until recently, there was no Victoria's Secret in Iceland. Now, however, we can buy cosmetics (that is, makeup, body sprays, lotions, etc.) in the duty-free! I'm so thrilled... yet another excuse for travelling (as if we need excuses to travel, duh!).

  • Beauty Rush Luminous Shadow in Gold School (left, a true gold) and Too Too Pink (right, a light, beige pink with peachy undertones). Those are loose eyeshadows, which "stick" to the applicator by help of magnetic powers, I believe. They are very pretty and I think they'll be nice to have when I'm in a "beauty rush" (aka, every morning!). However, I'm sceptical about their staying power... I'll update once I've tried them out! But I do love the names of those, Gold School is like old school, and Too Too sounds like "tutu", and tutu skirts are usually the exact light pink colour that this shade is! Genius!
  • Ooh la la - perfume. I love this perfume. It is sweet without being too sweet... and I love the old-fashioned bottle! I'll post a proper review soon! Actually, you are seeing a whole reveiw-galore ahead of you, girlies ;)
Stay tuned for part 6, which will be Benefit! Can't wait to share it :D

Love, Miss Diorista
