Haul from Germany (part 8) - Benefit

At last. The final part of the haul from Germany. Can you believe it? Part eight. The final part... I don´t believe it.
So this last part is probably the one that I am most excited about. This is all about Benefit products, which you can't buy here in Iceland, so I kind of might have gone slightly crazy at the Benefit counter... but I don't mind! Let's get started!

I got three boxed powders, and frankly, I love all of them.
First, you see Hoola bronzer to the left. A really nice, matte bronzer which still gives a sunkissed look. Perfect for contouring.
In the middle is one of their latest boxed powders, a blush called Sugarbomb. As you can see, it has four colours. This blush really gives a lot of sheen, but less colour, so if you're looking for some pretty flush with glow, this will be your thing.
I also got the duo 10. One side is a highlighter, the other one is a bronzer. Both are very shimmery. I love this for some quick contouring, just make sure to blend well so that you don't look too streaky!
For the Hoola I use a contouring brush, but for the other two, I find that the brushes that came with them, actually work best.

Below the powders, you see, from the left:
That Gal face primer. This is a pinkish primer, with a bit of shimmer. I don't like this under my makeup, as I can't really see any difference when wearing it. However, I do like it over my makeup, as a slight highlight, or as a base for a powder highlighter.
Next up is a gorgeous powder highlighter, Miss Popularity. It is one of the most sparkling highlighters I've ever seen, not for every day use, but for some extravaganza, I love this.
Ooh la lift was kind of a disappointment for me. It is supposed to brighten up your under eye area (not conceal, just brighten). However, I can hardly see any difference. It is milky pink, yes, slightly shimmery, but I won't repurchase. I sometimes use it on my cheekbones, though, for just a hint of glow.
Finally (on this picture), you see High Beam, another highlighter (yes, I am really into highlighters!). It is a liquid one, and I love it. Period.

First up is Hello Flawless! powder "foundation". I really, really love this, have been using it almost every day. I am in the colour "Gee, I'm swell, SHELL". Comes with a brush and a sponge.

Next to that one, is the Stay don't stray! e/s and concealer primer. It gives me some coverage, actually, and does reduce under eye creasing. See some further review here.

The little pink pot is probably a new love of mine, a concealer called Erase Paste. I'm in the lightest shade (they have three). This covers really well, doesn't crease a whole lot, and lasts well.

Finally, I got myself a concealing and brightening kit, the Confessions of a Concealaholic. How fun is that name! And the packaging is just supercute - looks like a book! It comes with Boi-ing concealer in shades 1 and 2, Erase Paste in shade 2, That Gal face primer, Eye Bright and Lemon-Aid. You also get two double-ended brushes, and each end is marked, so that you don't get things mixed up. I will probably do a full review of this kit, so I'm not going to ramble on about it here :)

Haul from Germany (part 7) - Dior

Finally, we are getting close to the end of this enormous haul! This part is not the last one, but the next one will be. Normally, I would have saved Dior until last, but since the last brand isn't sold in Iceland, I am very excited about it... so I'm saving it! Please enjoy this part of the haul!

First, you see here the following, starting from the left:

Diorskin Airflash Foundation. This is HG status. So amazing. Mine is in the lightest shade (they have four altogether). You can spray it directly on your face, but I prefer using a brush or simply my fingers. Beautiful foundation.

Next up is Diorskin Nude Glow. This was released in summer, and I unfortunetely think that is was LE. It can be used either under foundation to add some healthy glow, or over foundation as a slight highlight. Has very peachy (almost apricot) undertones.

Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Sculpting Powder Makeup in Beige Praline. Has SPF 10. I have to say that I really like this. It kind of has three products in one - an overall powder "foundation", a sculpter (which, depending on shades, can be used as a blush/bronzer. Here, it is a dark blush colour), and a highlighter.

The eyeshadow duo is 2 Couleurs, in Pop Look. It has a true, matte brown, and a shimmery peachy, pink shade, with a hint of gold to it. You can layer the two, or wear them seperately.

Finally, you see three nail polish bottles. Those came in a set of three. The first one is a base coat, then there comes a "ridge filler", which is basically just a very pale pink (kind of flesh pink) nail polish, and of course, you finish things off with a top coat. Let me just say, that this top coat is so amazing! It dries superquickly (by the time you finish your last nail, you can already touch the first one comfortably!) and gives a lot of gloss and shine.




Now, when I found this "little" guy, I just knew that I had to get it. It is a Travel Studio, and is basically supposed to be a travel kit. It has three eyeshadow duos (that makes six e/s altogether), a face powder, one lipstick, two lipglosses, a mini mascara, a black eyeliner, a brown lipliner, one double-ended e/s brush, one double-ended applicator and one brush, which is almost like a flat kabuki brush... Now, first of all, I have to say, that this palette is strangely put together. Two of the e/s duos are almost exactly the same (the top two, I know they don't look the same on this pic, though!), and what has a brown lipliner got to do with a pink lipstick? I don't quite get it. Also, the e/s are definetely not of the same quality as usual Dior eyeshadows. Those are a bit dry, as opposed to the buttery texture you usually get from Dior e/s. However, everything else is pretty nice, and you can create both day and night looks with those shadows.

Finally, I got this gorgeous "Addicted to Dior" lipgloss duo. It comes in two colours, and I got the "Addicted to Pink" one. It has a shimmery bronzy shade, as well as a pink shade. I decided to loan the pictures from elsewhere instead of taking some myself, because the stones in the writing always flashed my camera. Hope you don't mind :)

Haul from Germany (part 6) - MAC, Artdeco

Whew, we're on to part six of this... humongous haul :) In this part, we are focusing on MAC, but we also have one product by Artdeco. Read on and enjoy this part of the haul!

The only thing I got from Artdeco is to the left, the palette. I build it myself, they have a really cool system. You buy the palette, and you can get all kinds of palettes. There is this one, there is a smaller one, a bigger one, and even one which can hold a lipstick, too! They also sell applicators and brushes to fit in your palette (not great quality, but nice to have when traveling, I guess). The blushes/eyeshadows use a magnetic system to cling onto your palette, so you can turn it upside down without anything coming off. Also, when you're done with one shade, you can simply replace it. You can totally arrange your palette to be just what you want it to be - for example, the palette above can for example hold six e/s and no blush, or 8 e/s, then no applicator. Or two blushes and two e/s... all up to you!
The palette I built myself is though as a travel palette. All the colours are shimmery (though I might go and buy one non-shimmery highlight colour...). I love the blush, and all the shades are buttery, very pigmented and do not have fallouts. A total win!

Then on to the MAC products.
First, you see a Beautipowder. It is Summer Rose from their Liberty of London collection. I just got it because my Shell Pearl got stolen, and I wanted to own something with the same packaging. It is a nice blush colour, kind of has a lilac tone to it, while still being pink.

Next up is an MSF, By Candlelight. It is from the In the Groove collection. I really like this. It is a beige highlight colour, with a hint of pink. When I use this, I use a bit less of blush. It is not a blush colour for me, even though my skin is fair. However, it does add a bit of pink, so that is why I limit the blush used with this.

The blush you see is Springsheen. I love this one, been using it constantly since I got it! It has a beautiful golden sheen to it, really makes you glow. Buildable, too, so you can adjust the colour to what you want.

Finally, we have a concealer. It is a Select Moisturecover. I really like it. It covers my dark circles and doesn't crease a whole lot.

Haul from Germany (part 5) - Chanel, YSL, Maybelline, The Body Shop, Sisley

It is time for part 5 in this huge haul... and we still have a few parts left :)
This part will include products from Chanel, YSL, Maybelline, The Body Shop and Sisley. I had never heard of Sisley as a cosmetic brand before, and I only bought one product, but I really liked their makeup (I swatched a few things in the store). So check that out if you can, and enjoy this part of the haul!

1) First, you see a Chanel Joues Contraste. It is in shade 82, called Reflex. It has loads of shimmer and I really love it. However, I have to be careful with it, since it is very pigmented. It gives me a very "warm", meaning kind of tan, look, which is nice, when that is what I'm going for.

2) Below the blush, you see a YSL Rouge Volupté lippie! I had wanted one forever, and I love mine so much! It is extremely pigmented, mine is shade 29 called Opera Rose. It is a rather bright pink, no shimmer, but so beautiful. I love the packaging, too, and the little mirror on the end! (If you checked out Temptalia's review on this, then note that this colour is much, much brighter on me than her...)

3) Next you see an ExpertWear blush by Maybelline, in shade 58 called Brown. Yes, it might have slight brown tones to it, but mostly it is a golden tan colour for me. I don't find myself craving it very often, but it is nice to have. The brush is crap, by the way.
The lippie in the middle is a Maybelline ColorSensational, in 148 called Summer Rose. I love this one so much, it is HG for me! It is a bright pink with shimmer, and I wear it next to always!

4) The third blush is by The Body Shop, in the shade Vibrant Rose. I like the packaging a lot, you kind of stamp your blush on and then blend well. I actually have the other shade as well, called Golden Coral, and have to say that this one is much prettier. The lipstick to the right is a Delipscious by The Body Shop in Sheer Watermelon. I like it, but I have yet to get used to the shade!

5) The white eyeliner is by Sisley, the shade is Snow. It is a true white, with subtle shimmer (I actually just realized that it had shimmer a few days ago, when I had owned it for six weeks already!). The texture is very soft, and I like the fact that it has a smudger on the other side.

This is it for now, as you can see, we are now getting to the "fun" part!

Haul from Germany (part 4) - Brushes, tools and mascaras

We are slowly making our way through this huge haul, and now we are coming to the fun part! This part of the haul is all about brushes, tools and mascaras. Enjoy!

Starting from the left:

1) The first brush is simply HG! It is amazing! I had been looking for a good brush for contouring for so long, and was really going to buy the MAC one. Then, I stumbled upon this little sweetie, by a company called Fabiani. And you have no idea how nice this brush is! It is really soft and does not scratch my face, it has a comfy handle, it picks up product easily but not too easily... it is my new fave!

2) The second brush is your basic foundation brush. It is nice and I really do like it and use it a lot, but it does not come close to the Fabiani one!

3) The sponges are by Fabiani, and so is the eyelash curler. I'll start with the curler. I don't curl my eyelashes every day, but when I do, I like them to be perfectly curled. This curler does the job nicely. The thing I like the most about it, is that it came with two or three extra "pads", so even if they get dirty, you don't have to throw the curler away (even so, remember that it is really bad for your lashes to curl them after applying mascara. They can break or fall out. Try to curl before mascara ;)

I have not used the sponges yet, but I'm hoping that they will allow a sheer but nice coverage when used damp... I also really like the fact that they come in a sturdy box (nice for travelers).

4) We'll go through the mascaras, starting from the left. First up is L'Oréal's Volume Million Lashes. It is a rather new one, and has a "wiper", which is supposed to stop the mascara from clumping. I do like this mascara, but somehow I would not use it for every day.

In the middle is quite possibly my HG mascara... it is the L'Oréal's Voluminous. I had heard such good things about this one, that I just had to buy it. And yes, it is very nice! Adds volume and length, and is one of the blackest mascaras I've ever tried! This is supposed to be a dupe for YSL's Faux Cils, but I haven't tried that one, so I can't tell you:)

The last mascara is Helena Rubinstein's Lash Queen. I have only used this one two or three times, so I have to wait and tell you more when I know more!

Haul from Germany (part 3) - GOSH, Manhattan, Sans Soucis, lipbalms

So I really have to get this haul going! This is only part three and there are many more coming, I promise!
This part is GOSH, which I guess most of you know, Manhattan (a German brand), Sans Soucis (I was so glad when I found this brand in Germany - my mom used to love it but we couldn't find it anywhere, until now!) and also there are two lipbalms. Enjoy!


Starting from the left, upper row:
1) A really pretty, white eye shadow by GOSH. It has shimmer, and can be built up. Love this for brightening my eyes. Also from GOSH, a white, shimmery "effect powder". I was hoping that this would be a nice shimmery snow colour, but nope. It is just glitter. Not really loving this...

2) The eye shadow trio is from Sans Soucis, and oh my, do I love this! Can you see the "Love" that is "written" on the shadows? It is also on the lippie below the shadow (the one in the red case, it is a beautiful shimmery mauve colour). The only downside is that there is too little of the silver shadow in the trio, I really love that one!

3) First we take Manhattan, then we take Dior! The beige thing in the white pot is an eyeshadow primer by Manhattan. It has a slight brightening/shimmering effect to it, but nothing too obvious. Really like this one, though it does smell kind of weird... Then you see the bright lipstick next to the primer... It is my first bubblegum pink lippie! And I love it! It is not something I'd ever wear everyday, but every now and then for a fun look, I really like it. And it smells sooo good!

4) The lipbalms are really cute, and I do use them, but they are not the most moisturizing choices... The upper one is "I love... strawberries and milkshake", and I mostly just bought it because it smells so nice, really smells like strawberries and milkshake! And finally, the other lipbalm, which is so genius! It comes in a small "pot", and looks like ice cream! You could get many "ice cream flavours", I chose peach. It isn't very moisturizing, but it could be a nice conversation starter!

Haul from Germany (part 2) - Rival de Loup, Rival de Loup Young, Kron

So, finally, you get the second part of the haul from Germany! Note though, that this is far from being the last part! This part is focusing on a really nice brand called Rival de Loup. They divide their collection into their usual one, and Rival de Loup Young. I also bought two products from Kron, which is a German cosmetics brand.

The top eye shadows are both from Rival de Loup Young. The one to the left is so beautiful! It is a green-ish trio with shimmer but no glitter, whereas the other one is a green duo, with shimmer and a fair share of glitter. Both are creamy and buttery in texture and just overall great. I especially love the trio, but I have to admit that the heart pattern on the duo is adorable!


The two eye shadow pencils are from Rival de Loup Young. The colours are especially pretty and shimmery (nugat brown and smokey, I think I remember that correctly...) but in my opinion, I don't like them all over my lids, since they are very sticky. I can't blink my eyes properly when wearing them! However, I love them as chunky liners (especially the brown one) and I guess I could also use them under powder eyeshadows.

The left lipliner is by Rival de Loup (not young!). It is a very pretty rosy, shimmery pink. It is automatic and also comes with a sharpener. Nice quality.

The other lipliner is by Kron, and is not a favourite of mine. It is very baby pink, and shimmery. The colour is absolutely stunning, but somehow the texture is just very off. Applying this liner is not an easy task, let me tell you!

The blush creme stick is by Kron, and now that one is love! I know it looks horribly pink, but once on, it looks very nice. Plus, you get quite a lot of product, and you can layer powder blush over it.

So that completes this part of the haul, look out for the next part!

Haul from Germany (part 1) - UMA

Hi there!

So finally, I managed to get up from my lazy haze, and snatch a few haul pics for you!

I bought way too much while I was in Germany, so this haul is probably going to be split into quite a few parts... A few of the items that you will be seeing the next few days are bought a few days before or after my trip, but most of them come from Germany. So let's get started!

In this part I will be featuring all UMA stuff... UMA is a German makeup brand, but I really hope that you can get their products online (or from stores, wherever you are), because some of their products are really fun to have.

Starting from the left:

1. First up are two eye shadows. The brown one (08 sexy kitten) is a really pretty, light caramel colour, but the blue one (06, peppermint patty) is a frosty blue with a hint of peppermint. Both are really shimmery, but the pigmentation is not so fabulous. Also, there is a whole lot of fallouts... no, I won't start collecting this eye shadow line by UMA, but they are nice to have.

2. The brown thing (beneath the eye shadows) that looks like a liquid concealer is a lip colour base. I've only used it once, but it is supposed to smooth out your lips, make the lipstick show up better, and increase the longevity of your lip makeup. Since I haven't really tried it out yet, I can't tell you how it is...

3. Next, you see two eye liners. One is a beautiful khaki green (Automatic Kajal, 04), the other one is a glittery lilac (Glitter Eyeliner, 169A)! How fun! However, forget ever using those two on your waterline, they are not smooth enough. Plus, you don't want to get glitter in your eyes, so be careful.

4. I "hid" the lipstick in the lipgloss set to keep it open, lol! It looks terrifying, I know! I don't even know why I swatched it at the store. But I did, and I quite like it! Yes, it is really really dark, but if you only use a thin layer of this lipstick, you get a beautiful plum colour - perfect for fall. I look forward to using this when the winter comes. And don't worry - I will never wear it as dark as it seems on the pic! (Unless I apply for a part in a witch movie... wouldn't I make for the perfect witch? LOL!)

5. The small lipgloss set is just too pretty! It is really handy to have, and nice as a small gift. The shades are also really shimmery and pretty, and there is something in there for everyone.

6. Beneath the lipgloss set, you see my two favourite things in this part of the haul. They are cream eye shadows, and oh my! At a quick glance, those two seem to be the same colour, but they are actually not. The one to the left is a golden one, but to the right is a golden colour with more pink to it (they don't have numbers). Both are really beautiful, very shimmery (almost metallic), pigmentation is great, and they last so long! Also, the packaging is so handy to throw in your purse on your way out! It comes with a doe foot applicator, and the colours can be built. That way, you can create a whole smokey look with just one of those! Think about how handy that would be if you decided to go the movies last-minute!

7. The last item is a clear brow and lash gel (clear mascara, though I haven't used it as a mascara...). I don't like the idea of putting this on my lashes, and I don't really see the point of doing so. However, this is a lovely gel for your brows! It holds them, but doesn't dry to a crispy finish. Looks really natural. Also, the comb is great.
